Melodica Recordings' head honcho and chillout Toastmaster Chris Coco offers up 'Word,' the exuberant and care-free single taken from his forthcoming donwntempo masterpiece 'Freedom Street.'

'Word' is C21 soul, it’s inspired by early Factory Records dance acts like Quando Quango and features the unhurried reggae-infused tones of Scottish singer Andrew Docherty. The guitar licks and horns scream balmy summers evenings, it’s the perfect tonic for scorching days under the sun, be it in Ibiza or Clapham.

On the flip we have 'Word (Dubwise),' a clever rework of the original that's put through its paces in a dub engineer's studio, complete with reeling delays, spring reverb snares and a lot of soul!

'Word' is taken from the album 'Freedom Street,' out on Melodica Recordings in July.
